Down the Rabbit Hole

Simon Welsh. Down the Rabbit hole. I wanted to create a piece that explored sexuality and opens discussions about choices people make on social media. Our online personas are often not a true representation of our normal day to day lives. I often come across profiles that are often detached of thought, personality and joy and more of a smorgasbord of body parts on display striving for new likes and online validation. Getting stuck on this downward journey only leads to being forced to post more photos to stay relevant and if you decide to stray from the path you are often forgotten and ignored. b. A short bio Simon Welsh, based in Sydney has been doing collage for about 2 years. My collage is a measuring device of society’s health. My work is often erotic, powerful, even dangerous with amalgamations of natural elements, religious iconography & symbolisms of my own inner personal thoughts. Organically morphing images in a way to question the attitudes, stigmas and unwritten rules of my LGBTQI+ experience. I ask the audience to look more carefully at the world around them and discover beauty in the queerest of forms.
